Coquitlam police seek witnesses to man, 61, hit by car.
A 61-year-old man was hit by a car while he was crossing the street in Coquitlam on Saturday, December 27, 2025, which matters because police are now asking for help from the public to understand the moments before the collision.
The event happened near the intersection of Gordon Avenue and Christmas Way at approximately 12:30 in the afternoon. A frontline officer from the Coquitlam Royal Canadian Mounted Police found the man needing medical help after he was struck by a black 2017 Audi Q5. The driver of the car stayed at the location and was cooperative with investigators.
First responders took the man to a local hospital, and he was treated for minor injuries. It is not believed that alcohol or drugs were factors in the incident. The Coquitlam RCMP is investigating what happened. In a news release on December 31, 2025, Acting Corporal George Han, a media relations officer, stated that investigators are working to piece together the events that led to the collision.
Police are asking for anyone who saw the incident or who might have dashcam video from the area at the time to contact them. The Coquitlam RCMP can be reached at 604-945-1550, and callers should refer to file number 2025-33217. Federal privacy laws prevent the release of more details about the injured man, according to Sergeant Adriana O’Malley, another media relations officer with the detachment.
